For 2009, the Herriott Heritage Association is pleased to announce that an international reunion is being held in Edinburgh, Scotland. We hope to have Herriotts (with its variant spellings) from all over the globe attend this international reunion.

Itinerary

• July 15th - Flights overnight from USA

• July 16th - MEET IN HOTEL IN EDINBURGH. Afternoon meeting in hotel.

• July 17th - EDINBURGH. Visits to John Knox's House, Edinburgh Castle, Greyfriars Kirk and other places of interest.

• July 18th - EDINBURGH SUBURBS. Tour of George Heriot's School, Roslyn Chapel, Holyrood House.

• July 19th - EAST LOTHIAN VILLAGES. Castlemains, Dirleton, Haddington, Traboun and Gladsmuir, Scottish Evening at Prestonfield House.

• July 20th - DEPARTURE

The following are included:

• Transportation by private coach on all days except day 2 where it is anticipated that the places mentioned can be reached comfortably on foot.

• Airport transfers.

• Accommodation in twin or double rooms in a 3 star hotel in central Edinburgh. A single supplement is available at $400.

• Full Scottish breakfast is included each morning.

• Early dinner on first night.

• Scottish Evening at Prestonfield House on last night including Scottish pipers, three tenors and traditional dancers.

• Admission costs to all places in italics on the itinerary.

• Tour director who will accompany the group throughout the tour.

• All taxes.

The following are NOT included:

• Flights.

• Lunches.

• Evening meals on remaining evenings.

• Making of video journal.

• Optional gratuities/tips (driver and tour director).

• Travel insurance. It is recommended that, as well as coverage for loss of/theft/damage to belongings and health insurance, group members arrange insurance against unavoidable cancellation.

The cost is between $1300 and $1400 per person, two to a room, depending on the number of participants. A single person in a room rate is available for an extra $400.

Each reservation needs to be accompanied with a deposit of $275. Reservations need to be received by December 15, 2008.

Travel insurance is available to provide for a refund if you must cancel your reservation. The premium will be due at the time of the reservation. The cost is variable depending on coverage and age.

Final payment for the trip reservation will due by May 15, 2009.

The travel agent (Laura Cross) will be available to discuss air fare with you. Air fare arrangements can be made with her or whomever you wish. The more economical air fares will be available by December 15 at the same time the trip deposit is required.
